Where can I find a bathroom?

Our Durango Welcome Center has a clean public restrooms. They are open 9 am to 5pm and are located on the corner of Main Avenue and 8th Street. You can also fill up your water bottle and get information while you are there.

Where can I find an ATM? 

Visitors can find an ATM at several locations in Downtown.

Where can I eat?

We have many fantastic restaurants in Historic Downtown Durango and in the North Main District. Our online business directory makes it easy for you to search for what you are looking for. You can search by categories like: Lunch, Dinner, Fast & Local, Kid Friendly or just search by a type of food like Burgers or Italian. Check out all the restaurants on our dining guide.

Where can I eat in the North Main District?

There are many fantastic restaurants to choose from in the North Main District. Some favorites include: Serious Texas Bar-B-Q, Zia Taqueria, Homeslice PizzaLa Hacienda Mexican Restaurant, Sage Farm Fresh Eats  and Durango Doughworks. Where do I catch the Trolley?

The Main Avenue Trolley runs on a 20 minute schedule weekdays and one hour on Evenings and weekends. Here are the locations in Downtown where you can catch the Trolley: Transit Center, Main Avenue & 9th street, Buckley Park and Autozone. In the North Main District the trolley stops at these locations: Main Ave & 19th, Adobe Inn, Durango High school, Recreation Center, Travel Lodge and North City Market. The trolley operates along Main Avenue from the center of town and travels north to the Iron Horse Inn. Click here for more information.

Dog friendly restaurant patio? Or outdoor seating.

There are several great restaurants in Durango with nice outdoor seating areas that allow your dog to join you while you eat. Here are a few options.

Primi Pasta & Wine Bar, El Moro, T’s Smokehouse, Lola’s Place, GrassburgerFired Up Pizzeria, 2nd Deli & Spirits, Hermosa Café, Durango Coffee Company, Mag Pies Newsstand Cafe, Nini’s Taqueria, (Back patio), Four Leaves Winery, Michel’s Corner Crepes, Cold Stone CreameryAnimas River Beer Garden (at the Doubletree Hotel), and  Akami. Poke & Noodle Bar (located next to Albertsons). Cool off inside the Main Mall at 835 Main Avenue and dine at RGP’s Flaming Wraps and Los Amigos Del Sur.  (There is plenty of seating for you and your dog in the middle of the Main Mall)

In the North Main District, try Zia Taqeria, Homeslice Pizza, or Serious Texas BBQ.     

Did you know that you can connect to the Durango Wi-Fi for free!

The city partnered with SkyWerx Internet Services and 360Durango.com to complete the free public Wi-Fi component. At a cost of $70,000, SkyWerx installed 21 access points from Seventh Street to 13th Street, while 360Durango.com handles the advertising and overall user experience. To connect, go to your settings on your cell phone, select Wi-Fi and choose Durango WiFi under the network options.

How do I access the Animas River?

 There are many access locations on the seven mile stretch of river. Download a map here or pick one up at the Durango Welcome Center.  Access points can be found at  the following locations:

Where can I rent equipment?

Durango is filled with many sports shops for all seasons. From ski rental shops to bike shops and everything in between, you will find the equipment you need for your next outdoor adventure. Where is the Community Recreation Center?

The Durango Community Recreation Center is located in the North Main District at 2700 Main Avenue. The 71,557 sq. ft. facility offers a variety of activities for the entire family, including an expansive aquatics area with a 160 ft. water slide and play structures. The kids will enjoy scrambling on the 30-ft. high rock climbing wall. And don’t forget the racquetball courts and gymnasium. RV parking and dump stations:

Oversized vehicles like RVs – Oversized vehicle parking is allowed on 5th Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenues, on Roosa Ave. south of 9th Street, and at the Transit Center parking lot when space is available. Parking at the Transit Center requires a day pass, which can be purchased inside the Transit Center between 7 am and 5 pm Monday to Friday for only $5 for a full day.
