THE ANIMAS CITY THEATRE, VOTED #1 MUSIC VENUE FOR THE BEST OF DURANGO CONTEST, or The ACT as the locals call it, is a Movie Theatre and Live Music Venue located in Downtown Durango. The ACT shows independent films, hosts live music - both local and nationally & internationally touring acts, as well as hosts the Durango Independent Film Festival, other events, and private rentals.  The ACT features two full bars, so you can enjoy a movie with a glass of wine, beer, or cocktail!  You can also order food from Cuckoo's or The Roost next door and enjoy it while watching your film.

The ACT shows National Theatre Live Productions, which are live theatrical performances filmed in high definition for cinemas, such as THE AUDIENCE, WARHORSE, and CURIOUS INCIDENT OF DOG IN THE NIGHTTIME.  You'll have a front row seat to the best of London Theatre without leaving Durango, Colorado. The ACT also features Bolshoi Ballets, which are an experience the best of Russia's Bolshoi Ballet with new productions and classic encores all on the big screen! 
 

For Live Music we have the best sound system in the four corners!  We've hosted KELLER WILLIAMS, CHRIS ROBINSON BROTHERHOOD, NAPPY ROOTS, LEFTOVER SALMON, EUFORQUESTRA, THE REVEREND HORTON HEAT  just to name a few!
