Description:

The Durango Botanic Gardens are located on the Animas River Trail on the north and east sides of the Library. This is an award winning garden that is free and open to the public 24/7.

The Durango Botanic Gardens (DBG), founded in 2010, created and maintain the gardens around the Durango Public Library.  We are an all-volunteer, community funded organization dedicated to bringing public gardens to Durango and the Four Corners area.   As a non-profit, our mission to serve the community includes education and inspiration.   We provide information and events to assist the local homeowner in determining the trees, bushes and flowers that will thrive in your own yard.  Become a member, enjoy local discounts and the camaraderie of other garden enthusiasts.  https://durangobotanicgardens.org/page-1513776

We invite you to stroll through the garden on a warm, winter afternoon.  Listen to the birds singing and the river splashing.  Even when sleeping, our gardens—your gardens—are relaxing and tranquil.  Each season brings its own special enjoyment as the plants bloom and change during the spring, summer and fall.

You may take a self guided tour through our phone app at https://dubg.oncell.com/en/index.html or pick up a tour booklet from the bin along the River Trail.  These gardens are designed and developed by the Durango Botanic Gardens (DBG). Our Docents provide free guided tours upon request.   You may call us at 970-880-4841 or e-mail at durangobotanic@gmail.com.

DBG is a member of the North American Public Garden Association and the American Horticulture Society.
