Summertime in Durango is filled with lots of amazing events that are great for the whole family! There are many weekly events like Concerts at the Park, True Western Roundup rodeo, Farmers Market and more. Other events not to be missed include Music in the Mountains, Four Corners Gem and Mineral show and Men Who Grill. The summer wraps up with the biggest beer tasting festival, the San Juan Brewfest at the end of August. Summer is jammed packed with some great events not to be missed.

The Durango Farmers Market is ready for another fabulous market season in Downtown Durango! The market features over 35 local farmers with fresh produce; locally raised meat products; local businesses creating hot, ready to eat food and beverages; artisans with high-quality handmade goods; and more. Outdoor Movie Nights
The 1st, 3rd and 5th Friday night in June, July and August
Movies in the Park movies series is presented by City of Durango and the Credit Union of Colorado.
Join us this summer for family friendly free movies in the park and watch movies under the stars! Each movie night features a unique pre-show and food vendor options. Attendees can arrive around 7 pm. Prior to the movie, there will be food vendors, local youth talent, exhibitions, and hands-on activities. At approximately 8:30 pm the t-shirt canon will fire off free t-shirts along with other prize giveaways. The movie will start 15 minutes after sunset. Bring your lawn chair or blanket for the event. Don't forget to grab dinner at one of are many wonderful restaurants prior to the movie in Downtown Durango or the North Main District!

Our western events are hosted each Wednesday evening at the La Plata County Fairgrounds. We are hosting a traditional rodeo on the following dates: June 8, 15, 22, 29 July 6, 13, 20. We have scheduled a freestyle bullfight on August 3 and a Ranch Rodeo and Western Variety Show on August 10.

Durango's premier summer kick-off event, Men Who Grill, is back again for the 19th year! Men Who Grill is a fundraiser for the Women's Resource Center in Durango. For over 35 years, the Women's Resource Center has been creating personal, financial, social and professional growth opportunities for women and girls in La Plata County. The food tasting event will be held in Buckley Park with live music and delicious creations grilled up by our competitive grilling teams. Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the gate. The Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College is happy to announce the return of its free summer concert series, Concert Hall @ The Park in Downtown Durango’s Buckley Park on Thursdays at 5:30 pm beginning June 16 through July 28. July 4th celebration in Historic Downtown Durango will feature a whole weekend of fastivities and events! Things will kick off on Friday in Buckley Park with Outdoor Movie Night featuring Sandlot. The night will include music by Stillwater Youth Bands and Bike Decorating for the 4th of July Parade. On Saturday the first annual BBQ, Bulls & Beer Competition will take place at the La Plata County Fairgrounds starting at 10am. On Saturday evening at the transit center, kick up your heals for a Street Dance and watch the drone and fireworks show. On Sunday, stop by the Powerhouse Science Center for a free music event called Rockin' on the River featuring Elder Grown. And for the big event on July 4th this day will be packed with multiple events including an All American Breakfast at Rotary park, free music at Buckley park, picnic, concerts, fun bike and running races and capped off with the 4th of July parade down Historic Main Avenue!

Join us for "Rockin' on the River", a free music series on five Sundays throughout the summer at The Powerhouse. This family friendly music series will feature local and regional bands, including Lavalanche, High Country Hustle, Elder Grown, Robert Kent Voss, and Red Light Cameras. Located outside on the Carver Family Plaza from 4:00pm-7:00pm, this summer series will host food trucks, local craft vendors, and The Powerhouse bar for drink purchases.

Rocky Mountain UkeFest is scheduled in venues around Durango Thursday through Sunday, July 7 - 10, 2022, featuring special guest artists Victoria Vox with Jack Maher. (Jack & the Vox), Aaron & Nicole Keim (The Quiet American), Marnie Ward and Kevin Carroll.
In celebration of its 7th year, the UkeFest kicks off the weekend with the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College's FREE Summer Music Series | Concert Hall @ The Park featuring Jack & the Vox (and company) on Thursday, July 7, 5:30 pm at Buckley Park in downtown Durango. The festival continues with ukulele workshops, open mic night, live jam sessions and concerts throughout the weekend at venues throughout Durango including the Smiley Building Lawn, Smiley Cafe, Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College. Beginner, intermediate and advanced ukulele players are encouraged to register for the UkeFest and exit as a ukulele Rockstar.

The popular summer concerts will be held July 13 - August 17 on Wednesdays, 5 to 7 pm, featuring live, local music at the Rochester Hotel's Secret Garden. These concerts, through a $10 cover charge for attendees, will benefit six selected La Plata County nonprofits serving the environmental sector. An annual tradition for the entire family. The County Fair features live animals, exhibits, pies, quilts, and more. Fairgoers should check out the prized livestock raised by our local 4-H youth. No fair would be complete without traditional carnival rides and decadent carnival food. A local favorite event not to be missed is the Demolition Derby. Tickets for this sell out quickly, so get yours in advance or pick up one the morning of the event. There is so much to do at the Fair, you just might want to visit more than once! August 26 - 27, 2022 at Buckley Park
The best beer tasting festival in the Four Corners! The San Juan Brewfest takes place over two days this year - Friday August 26 and Saturday August 27. Friday is VIP day with only 500 tickets sold, so no waiting in long lines. A meal and a Brewfest merch goodie bag are included with your VIP ticket. Saturday is general admission day. Both days featuring up to 35 breweries with nearly 100 beers to sample, unlimited tastings, a souvenir tasting glass, live bands and tons of fun, all to benefit United Way of Southwest Colorado.
