Check out all the fun events coming to Durango this summer!

Summertime in Durango is filled with lots of amazing events that are great for the whole family! There are many weekly events like Concerts at the Park, True Western Roundup rodeo, Farmers Market, Community Concerts, and more. Other events not to be missed include Music in the Mountains, Four Corners Gem and Mineral Show and the La Plata County Fair. The summer wraps up with the biggest beer-tasting festival, the San Juan Brewfest at the end of August. Summer is jam-packed with some great events not to be missed.

Live Music at the Office

Monday- Sunday @The Office Spiritorum 6-9 pm

Community Concerts

Every Wednesday @ 5:30 pm @ The Powerhouse - June 3 - August 5

The Powerhouse is thrilled to continue a summer tradition of local music, community gatherings, and nonprofit support through a weekly Community Concert Series. Every Wednesday, from early June through mid-August, we will host a concert outside the Carver Family Plaza, with half of the ticket proceeds donated to a different local non-profit beneficiary. True Western Roundup

True Western Roundup is excited to showcase the working ranch activities of the American Cowboy and Cowgirl. We are proud to promote and preserve our western heritage in a positive family atmosphere, and we welcome you to bring your family and friends for an exciting evening of wild western entertainment!

Our mission is to produce events that preserve our western heritage, promote business, support human and animal athletes, build community, and provide a family-friendly atmosphere in an authentic fashion.  Our western events are hosted just about every Wednesday evening at the La Plata County Fairgrounds.

Durango Farmers Market

Every Saturday 8 am-noon at TBK Bank Parking Lot * 2nd Saturdays the Market is on Main Avenue

The Durango Farmers Market is ready for another fabulous market season in Downtown Durango! The market features over 35 local farmers with fresh produce; locally raised meat products; local businesses creating hot, ready-to-eat food and beverages; artisans with high-quality handmade goods; and more. Buy your produce from the farmers who grew it and your bread from the baker who baked it. Meet your community each weekend and enjoy live musical entertainment. It's an event not to be missed!

Open Saturdays 8 am to noon (October 9 am to noon). The market runs from May 9th through October 31st. Please remember that dogs are not allowed at the market. 

Located at the TBK Bank Parking Lot at 259 W. 9th Street, just one block off Main Avenue. Across from the Durango Transit Center.

The Durango Farmers Market will be on Main Avenue in Downtown Durango on the 2nd Saturday of each month! Dates for the 2nd Saturdays on Main Avenue are: May 9, June 13, July 11, August 8, September 12, and October 10. Learn more HERE.

Every Sunday @noon @ 11th Street Station

Spend your Sunday afternoons at the Sunday Record Brunch Club at 11th Street Station. Starting at noon every Sunday, enjoy laid-back vinyl vibes, brunch favorites, drinks, and a relaxed outdoor atmosphere while DJs spin records and set the perfect soundtrack for your weekend. ANNUAL SUMMER EVENTS:

Animas River Days

May 30-31, 2026

Animas River Days is celebrating its 43rd anniversary with a summer festival honoring our community, our river, and our environment! This two-day event will take place at Santa Rita Park on Saturday, May 30, and Sunday, May 31. Expect a full lineup of on-water action, including river surfing, stand-up paddling, freestyle kayaking, boatercross, raft and kayak slalom, and much more. Grab a drink in the cocktail and beer garden with Ska Brewing and enjoy a variety of local food vendors. Over 30 booths will be open both days, many featuring outdoor adventure brands and paddle sports gear. Be sure not to miss the River Parade Viewing Party on Saturday, May 30, at 5 pm; local boaters will hit the water in costume to celebrate the Animas River and its vital role in our community.

Don’t forget to come back on Sunday for Bloody Marys, the Freestyle Kayaking Event, live music, and vendors all day long!

Proceeds from Animas River Days support a scholarship program that helps get kids into kayaking and water sports.

Summer Arts & Crafts Festival

June 6 & 7 at the La Plata County Fairgrounds

The Summer in the Rockies Arts and Crafts Festival is a new arts festival produced by the long-standing Miss Margie’s Festival Productions. This festival will showcase various local artists over two days at the La Plata County Fairgrounds. This is an excellent opportunity to shop for unique gifts from various local artists. The event features paintings, sculptures, jewelry, textiles, and more.

 

 

 

Durango PlayFest

June 23-28, 2026

Durango PlayFest is a week-long play development festival that brings affordable, world-class theatre to rural Southwest Colorado. Each summer, new and established playwrights, well-known actors of stage, television and film, and directors spend a week in Durango to workshop new plays over the course of a week. At the end of the week, PlayFest holds captivating readings of the plays for local audiences. The audience is an essential part of this collaborative creative process, giving feedback to help playwrights fine-tune their plays further. In exchange, audiences get a front-row seat to the process of play development and insights into how these professionals work together as a team. A festival party kicks off the annual event. 4th of July Celebration

Fourth of July Celebration! July 2-5

The town of Durango is celebrating the 4th of July with 30 events over four days, including concerts, dance parties, movies in the park, the Stars & Stripes 4th of July Parade, artists showcase, food & drink, a 5k race, a Homes for Heroes picnic, the True Western Roundup, fireworks and more. Music in the Mountains

Celebrate a milestone summer with Music in the Mountains' 40th season! Southwest Colorado's premier classical music festival welcomes world-class musicians from around the country to Durango for four unforgettable weeks of live classical music from July 9 through August 2, 2026.  Join us for our free community concert series on our custom-built Mobile Stage and an exciting lineup of inspiring performances in beautiful local venues, including the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College.

Four Corners Gem and Mineral show

July 10 - 12, 2026 at the La Plata County Fairgrounds and Events Center

The Four Corners Gem and Mineral Club will host their 72nd Annual Gem and Mineral Show, July 10, 11, and 12 at the La Plata County Fairgrounds! Over 60 vendors will offer gems, minerals, jewelry, fossils and more! Kids activities and Silent Auctions. Food trucks on site. $5 admission at the door. DurangoRocks.org for more details. Fiesta Days

July 18 & 19, 2026, at the La Plata County Fairgrounds

Fiesta Days was established in 1935 and is one of the longest-standing events in Durango. This year will be the 91st year for Durango Fiesta Day, featuring entertainment and activities like rodeos, horse racing, a parade, and more. This is an important festival in Durango that celebrates our colorful heritage.

 

 

 

Party in the Park

July 25, 2026 at 5pm at Buckley Park
KSUT Presents the 21st Annual Party in the Park with headliners MarchFourth! Cha Wa will open the show. The event includes beer, wine, cocktails, and food vendors.

Carve Wars

July 30- August 1 @ Purgatory Resort

The greatest chainsaw carving competition in the country returns to Purgatory Resort! Come watch these amazing artists create magnificent works of art right in front of you.

Buckley Park Arts & Crafts Festival

 August 1, 2026, in Buckley Park

It features local artists and craftsmen who offer a variety of handmade goods and one-of-a-kind gifts. There will be a food truck on site.  The crafts festival will be located right downtown in Buckley Park on the first Saturday in August. This event will feature over 50 local artists, yard games, food, and prize drawings. Event runs from 9 am-3 pm.

 

 

 

La Plata County Fair

August 6-10, 2026, at the La Plata County Fairgrounds and Events Center

It is an annual tradition for the entire family. The County Fair features live animals, exhibits, pies, quilts, and more. Fairgoers should check out the prized livestock raised by our local 4-H youth. No fair would be complete without traditional carnival rides and decadent carnival food.  A local favorite event not to be missed is the Demolition Derby. Tickets for this sell out quickly, so get yours in advance or pick up one the morning of the event. There is so much to do at the Fair; you just might want to visit more than once! San Juan Brewfest

August 28-29, 2026 at Buckley Park

The best beer tasting festival in the Four Corners! The San Juan Brewfest takes place over two days - Friday August 28 and Saturday August 29 – and is held in Downtown Durango at Buckley Park. VIP and General Admission tickets will be available. Both days feature up to 35 breweries with nearly 100 beers to sample, unlimited tastings, a souvenir tasting glass, live bands, and tons of fun, all to benefit Team Up.
