Each summer, new and established playwrights, well-known actors of stage, television and film, and directors spend a week in Durango to workshop new plays over the course of a week. At the end of the week, PlayFest holds captivating readings of the plays for local audiences. The audience is an essential part of this collaborative creative process, giving feedback to help playwrights finetune their plays further. In exchange, audiences get a front-row seat to the process of play development and insights into how these professionals work together as a team. A festival party kicks off the annual event. The 6th annual festival is June 25-30, 2024 More information at https://durangoplayfest.org
