BID is excited to announce the launch of our newest initiative to support local businesses, Heart of Durango Dollars digital gift card program in partnership with industry leader Yiftee.
BID businesses are invited to join this exclusive gift card program, which is available solely to BID businesses. Heart of Durango Dollars will function as a local gift card (backed by Mastercard), redeemable exclusively at businesses within the Durango Business Improvement District.
The Heart of Durango Dollars digital gift card has been used for BID's Rewards programs and other local shopping incentives, including the Spring Rewards program, Holiday Rewards program, NoMAD, and the Holly Jolly Gift Card program. To date, over 800 cards have been distributed through BID's programs, partnerships and purchases. Starting in January of 2025, BID began selling this card to the public on our website. BID is pleased to partner with the City of Durango and Visit Durango to offer this card as part of various promotions.
Who can sign up to accept the card? Only businesses within the BID will be eligible to sign up to take the Heart of Durango Dollars digital gift card at their business. A business must opt in to the program to begin accepting the card at their business.
Is there a fee to sign up? There are no fees for the business to sign up.
Where can the card be used? The Heart of Durango Dollars digital gift card can only be used at participating businesses that have signed up to accept it.

6. No administration burden: Redeemed funds are automatically paid to you via your usual Mastercard processor.
How do I accept the card?
Once a business has opted into the program by activating a card on their POS system, that business will be ready to accept Heart of Durango Dollars. The Heart of Durango Dollars digital gift card will be processed like any Mastercard. The card will need to be manually keyed into your system, or it can be accepted if you have a tap to pay system enabled.
How will BID promote the gift card?
BID businesses that opt in will be added to the list of merchants that accept Heart of Durango Dollars digital gift card. This list will be available to all shoppers who receive the card. Additional merchant signage and marketing for participating businesses will also be available.
