BID is excited to announce the launch of our newest initiative to support local businesses, Heart of Durango Dollars gift card program in partnership with industry leader Yiftee.
BID Businesses are invited to join this exclusive gift card program, which is available solely to BID businesses. Heart of Durango Dollars will function as a local gift card (backed by Mastercard), redeemable exclusively at businesses within the Durango Business Improvement District.
Heart of Durango Dollars will be offered during BID's year-end promotions in 2024. The first promotion is NoMAD~ North Main Autumn Days - during October. The second is BID's Holiday Rewards program in December. Close to 300 Heart of Durango Dollars gift cards will be available to people who participate in these programs.
Starting in 2025 BID will allow the public to purchase these cards, giving locals and visitors alike the opportunity to keep their dollars local.
Who can sign up to accept the card? Only businesses within the BID will be eligible to sign up to accept the Heart of Durango Dollars gift card at their business.
Businesses that currently accept the Heart of Durango Dollars gift card include Zia Taqueria, Happy Pappy's Pizza n Wings, Durango Outdoor Exchange, Ski Barn- North, Sage Fresh Eats, Durango Doughworks, Pet Haus, Roam Durango, Home Slice Pizza, Louisa's Electronics, Tippy Canoe, Maria's Bookshop, Carver Brewing Company, Animas Trading, Eolus Bar and Dining and more! Add your business to this growing list!
Is there a fee to sign up? There are no fees to the business to sign up.
Where can the card be used? The Heart of Durango Dollars gift card can only be used at BID businesses that sign up to accept it.

Why participate in this program?

5. Easy to sign up and activate - No special technology or administration is required to participate. *Must accept Mastercard and be able to key in the transaction.
6. No administration burden: Redeemed funds are automatically paid to you via your usual Mastercard processor.
How do I accept the card?
Once a business has opted into the program by activating a card on their POS system, that business will be ready to accept Heart of Durango Dollars. The Heart of Durango Dollars gift card will be processed like any Mastercard. The card will need to be manually keyed into your system.
How will BID promote the gift card?
BID will award the first Heart of Durango Dollars gift cards during two promotions in late 2024: NoMAD, North Main Autumn Days, and the Holiday Rewards Program. In the future the Heart of Durango Dollars gift card will be available for the public to purchase, giving locals and visitors alike the opportunity to keep their dollars local.
BID businesses that opt in will be added to the list of merchants that accept Heart of Durango Dollars Gift Card. This list will be available to all shoppers who receive the card. Additional merchant signage and marketing for participating businesses will also be available.
