Event Details

BID will provide information and details about the larger annual events in Downtown as one way to inform businesses of the impacts to Downtown. This will include information on road closures, parking into and other details. Events include: Snowdown Parade in late January/early February, Taste of Durango in mid-May, Iron Horse Bicycle Classic over Memorial Day Weekend, Fourth of July, and Autumn Arts Festival in mid-September. The event promotors will present this information at two BID Coffee and Conversation meetings prior to the event. Businesses are encouraged to attend these meeting to ask questions. The BID monthly meetings are the second Friday of each month at 8:30 to 9:30 am in the community room at TBK Bank.

Current Event Information:

Iron Horse Bicycle Classic, Friday May 24 to Sunday May 26

Iron Horse Bicycle Classic (IHBC) has a very different footprint in Downtown compared to past years. On Friday May 24, IHBC will be in Buckley Park and on 13th Street just north of the park for packet pick up. They will be in the park through Sunday May 26, so parking around the park will not be allowed.

On Saturday May 25, the road race will begin at 6 to 8:30 am. the 1200 block of Main will be closed that morning to accomodate all the start times.

On Sunday May 26, the Downtown events will occur.

Closure: Main Street from 12th to 13th.  2nd Ave from 12th to 8th.  Traffic can cross 2nd Ave at 9th Street. 13th Street from Main east to alley, east bound traffic only one way. The alley between Main and E. 2nd will remain open, except for the 800 block which will be closed to traffic. See this map.

July 4th Parade, Thursday July 4

Detailed information coming soon. The annual 4th of July parade will be on Main Ave. from College to 12th Street. Staging will be on the 500 block of Main, and on E. 5th Street from Main to E. 3rd Ave. This area will be closed to parking and traffic from 4 to 6:30 pm. The parade route (Main from College to 12th Street) will be closed to parking and traffic from 5:45 to 7 pm. The Street Dance will be held in the Transit Center parking lot, which requires no closures of Downtown streets. That parking area will be closed from 12:30 pm to 1 am.
