2026 marks the 27^th year for the San Juan Brewfest, and it is my 19^th year of being involved with the event. I have seen it grow from its humble beginnings on Main Avenue with about 300 people attending to become one of the area’s signature annual events that attracts 2,000 people each year.

 

The Brewfest is the Four Corners’ favorite beer tasting festival and is also a major fundraising event for local charity Team Up. It’s a great way to learn about craft beer while enjoying live music, great food and supporting a great cause.

 

The San Juan Brewfest will be held over two days – Friday, August 28 from 5 to 8 pm and Saturday, August 29 from 1 to 5 pm. We are at Buckley Park at 12^th Street and Main Avenue in Downtown Durango both days. Tickets have been on sale since June 1 and are selling quickly.

 

On Friday, tickets are discounted to $40. Ticket holders receive a souvenir tasting glass, unlimited tastings from 40 breweries, live music from Desiderta, and there will be food available for purchase from Serious Texas BBQ and Mac’n Wag’n food trucks. This day will have a max of 600 attendees, so there will be very little waiting in lines on Friday evening. Friday will also provide a unique opportunity to spend more time with the breweries, who love to tell you about their beers.

 

On Saturday, two ticket types are offered.

A general admission ticket costs $50 and provides a souvenir tasting glass, unlimited tastings from 40 breweries plus live music from The Galeentines with local support from ORA. Food available for purchase from Serious Texas BBQ and Mac’n Wag’n food trucks, plus Gosar Natural Foods.

A VIP ticket is available for $105 that includes many extras:

• One-hour early entry at noon
• A meal from Grassburger
• Access to 2 VIP tents with shaded seating and a special VIP only beer from Ska Brewing
• Hands-free tasting glass holder
• VIP dedicated bathrooms, including the “fancy” unit from Bob’s Johns with separate men and women sides and running water

 

The Brewfest also sells a Designated Driver ticket, which is heavily discounted by 50%. DD’s are treated to free mocktails, coffee drinks, and sodas in the DD Lounge.
