Located on the banks of the Animas River in a historic coal-fired, steam-generated AC power plant, The Powerhouse presents a wide range of programs, exhibits, and activities designed to support learning, spark curiosity and encourage play! The Powerhouse is Southwest Colorado's hands-on, interactive STEAM-focused children's museum, designed primarily for ages 2-10. However, exhibits like our puzzle tables offer engaging fun for the whole family. Open year-round, the science center is a dynamic place for family adventure, school field trips, early childhood learning, special events, and fun!
The Powerhouse accepts Heart of Durango cards for general admission, gift shop purchases and annual memberships. They cannot be used for camp registration, after-school programs or monthly memberships.
