Description:

The La Plata Economic Development Alliance (The Alliance) is a non-profit focused on creating a vibrant community where residents come to live, work, learn, and play. As one of the most respected economic development organizations in the region, the Alliance collaborates with both governments and businesses to create a more vibrant local economy.

As a private, non-profit, 501(c)6 organization, the Alliance key focuses are Workforce Housing, Workforce Development, and Business Capacity & Growth. Our monthly member meetings are an unparalleled opportunity for networking with local community leaders and learning about recent developments affecting the local economy. We provide a wide array of programs including internships, trailing spouse initiatives, upskilling/reskilling, retail assistance, consultation, data analysis, and more to support your success. We also develop initiatives that help improve the overall quality of the business environment in La Plata County.

The La Plata Economic Development Alliance, or Alliance, is a collaborative partnership between the public, non-profit, and private sectors dedicated to strengthening the economy through the retention, expansion, and recruitment of quality businesses. We were formed in early 2011 as the successor to LEAD; the previous economic development organization managed through the Durango Chamber of Commerce.

Additionally, the Alliance hosts an Economic Summit held in September each year. The Summit brings together community leaders and businesses from throughout the Four Corners region to help people make new connections and learn about new ideas to help their companies to grow.
