About Durango Fish Hatchery

The Durango Fish Hatchery raises rainbow, brown, Snake River, and native cutthroat trout and kokanee salmon. Durango stocks approximately 150,000 catchable rainbows and 1.3 million subcatchable fish each year in the southwest corner of Colorado. This is the oldest state-owned fish hatchery in Colorado (Leadville National Fish Hatchery is the oldest). The Durango Hatchery & Wildlife Museum is included on the property.

The Wildlife Museum is currently closed for construction.
