BID coordinates several efforts to keep Downtown and North Main Avenue looking great year-round. BID partners with the Durango Chamber of Commerce and the City of Durango on the annual Downtown Clean Up Day. Held the Friday of Memorial Day weekend, 100 volunteers help clean up Downtown just in time for summer. In 2016, BID hopes to add North Main Clean Up Day.
BID also partners with the City on the Downtown Flower Barrel program every summer. BID recruits 100 businesses to host flower barrels the City plants over the summer months. To get your business on the list to host a flower barrel, please email us.
As the Citys plans for North Main Avenue mobility improvements come to fruition, expect to see beautification work on this corridor too. New in 2016 is another cleaning program BID is exploring where businesses are reimbursed for renting a power washer to clean their sidewalks or for hiring a professional cleaning company to clean their sidewalks. Stay tuned for more details.
