Mark your calendar for Singing with Santa: FRIDAY NOVEMBER 24, 5:45 to 7:30 pm
SINGING WITH SANTA is the official start to the holiday season in Downtown Durango! Meet Santa and march on Main Avenue singing Christmas Carols, help us light the Community Christmas Tree at Buckley Park, and enjoy FREE hot chocolate and cookies while they last. You can also get your photo taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus, but bring your own camera. See the timeline below for all the details.Click HERE for the songs and lyrics we will sing!
Singing with Santa is always the Friday after Thanksgiving, which this year is Friday November 24.
5:30- 5:45 pm - meet at 8th and Main Avenue. (we will gather on 8th Street up to 2nd Avenue) *this is a new location this year!
Bank of the San Juans will provide glowsticks to the first 1,000 kids. We will sing three christmas carols before Santa arrives. We will sing Jingle Bells, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer and Here comes Santa Claus.
6 pm - Santa will arrive
6:05 pm - march up Main Avenue to Buckley Park, singing Christmas Carols along the way. Download our song list here.
6:30 pm - APPROXIMATE - countdown to the lighting of the Community Christmas Tree
6:35 pm - FREE hot chocolate and cookies while they last
6:35 to 7:30 pm - FREE photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, but BRING YOUR OWN CAMERA
Do you want to volunteer? We are looking for several volunteers to help us with handing out glow sticks to children, lead Christmas Carols up main street, hand out cookies and hot chocolate at Buckley park and help assist with pictures with Santa.
