The Durango Business Improvement District offers a limited number of Special Event Grants to local Downtown organizations that may need assistance in marketing their events. Funds, if granted, are designated for use in marketing an event outside of La Plata County, thereby helping to meet the Business Improvement District’s mission to attract new visitors to Downtown. Funds are made available annually based on a written application, which is review by a special committee.

Apply for a Special Events Grant

The purpose of the grants is to stimulate and support business in the District, by assisting special events in their marketing, promotion and ability to attract visitors to Durango.

The BID marketing grants (ranging in amounts from $500 to $5,000 max) are designated marketing funds for organizations to be used to broadly promote their events to attract more business to Durango retail shops, restaurants, hotels, and tourist sites.
